This is not a "copy this perfume and get sales" type of book. You still have to test fragrance and suppliers. But if you want a proper roadmap instead of random YouTube videos, it gives you structure.
I liked that it goes beyond just making perfume. There is marketing, community, fundraising and export thinking also, so it feels useful even after the first launch.
The label checklist is something I will keep using before every print run. Small details are easy to miss when you are excited about launching.
The graphics and tables make the practical sections easier to read. I would still like even more real bottle and packaging examples in the next version, but the content itself is very knowledgeable.
The 30-day launch plan helped because I was stuck in preparation for months. I still changed the dates according to my work schedule, but at least I had a sequence to follow.

I already had three fragrance samples ready, so the early idea section was basic for me. The COGS, packaging and launch planning sections were much more useful at my stage.
The book is detailed. Some sections need slow reading, but it is not just surface-level content. I especially liked the packaging and label part because those are the things beginners usually miss.
I liked the scent-emotion mapping because it made the fragrance concept easier to think about. Earlier I only knew "fresh" or "strong". This gave me a better way to describe the brand direction.
The perfume brief template was the most useful part for me. I was speaking to manufacturers very vaguely before. After filling it, I could actually explain the customer, scent family and feeling I wanted.
I thought starting a perfume brand was mainly fragrance oil, bottle and logo. The costing sheet made me realise how many small costs I was not adding - pump, outer box, labels, shipping and payment charges.
